The PR world is not what it used to be. New digital platforms and the emergence of content marketing has changed the face of PR dramatically. So how has content marketing changed the stakes for the PR world?

What’s news? The growth of social media and new content platforms means that news doesn’t necessarily come from traditional media organisations anymore. We’re all creating the news!

New digital platforms have changed consumer behaviours. With most of us having constant access to content via social media and other digital channels, we’re interacting with media and creating our own, rather than just being a static audience.

Brands now need to become publishers. More and more organisations are hiring internal journalists or editors to their communications teams, always ready to push the latest story.

It’s clear that organisations need to adapt to this changing arena. Marketing and PR teams need to become more heavily integrated, and brands need to ensure their creating their own news and making their mark on social media.
