It’s a crowded market out there these days. Getting your sales promotion right is absolutely critical to getting noticed by your customers – here’s our top tips.

What do you want to achieve? A sales promotion is a great idea, but if you don’t know what to expect or what you want to get out of it it can be a waste of time. Include your targets in your plan, whether it be the number of products you want to sell or the number of new customers you want to register for your product.

What’s your target audience? Do your research and plan your campaign according to your audience. The tine of a promotion could change dramatically depending on whether you are targeting old or new customers, or the customers of your competitors for example.

What’s the incentive? Your promotion must attract people to you with a great incentive – this could be discounts, trial offers or a giveaway. Make it attractive without affecting your business in the long run! One tip – 10% discounts are unlikely to inspire.
